My favourite local Artisan ‘Emma Bailey’

On a recent visit to a local museum showing an art exhibition by students at the local art college, adjacent to the canal in Stoke on Trent, stopping for afternoon tea just seemed the right thing to do. It proved to be a most enjoyable experience and besides I do like cake. Whilst taking in the décor and staring at all the customers as I normally do, it became quite apparent that within this old pottery factory there are a small selection of artisan studios. This proved to be music to the ears of Mrs A, also a painter; with pieces painted and purchased filling the walls of our home. (Even in the summer we have oils and acrylics hanging off fences and walls in our garden.)

Entering the world of Emma Bailey Pottery we encountered not just a wonderful woman at her station with paint brush in hand but a most delightful array of bone china ware of her own design. Modern and easy on the eye with style and artistic verve it was impossible to not appreciate the panorama of this one room studio and shop. Of course a purchase took place.

We were so enamoured with our (Mrs. A’s) small purchase that we decided to commission our own tea set and worked on a design together to achieve a great result. With the early part of the year being so quiet for Emma we received the majority of our order within two weeks and at an exceptionally excellent price

Much to my pleasure and surprise Emma now has our tea set design in many colours on display; noted during my visit yesterday, to collect some final pieces.
